4 UDMF cadres held from Sunsari minutes before PM's visit

KATHMANDU: Police in Duhabi of Sunsari district arrested four persons for protesting the Prime Minister's visit to Itahari of the district.

Inspector Shiva Prasad Pokharel of Duhabi Area Police Office said four cadres of the United Democratic Madhesi Front were arrested for forcing traders to shut their businesses and chanting various slogans for that just some time before the PM KP Sharma Oli's visit.

Meanwhile, PM Oli landed at the Biratnagar Airport few minutes after the arrest.

He is scheduled to attend a function of the CPN-UML in Itahari today.

Earlier, the UDMF had announced to obstruct all ministers and lawmakers from visiting any Tarai district.
