Makawanpur Police arrested 794 persons for various crimes in the last fiscal.

District Police Office Makawanpur made the data public at a press meet organised in the office today.

SP Mira Chaudhary of DPO said police arrested 761 males, and 33 females involved in different criminal activities. SP Chaudhary informed that 69 men and six women were arrested for involvement in heinous crimes, while 50 men and 11 women were held for gender-based violence.

SP Chaudhary informed that statistics showed 139 men and one woman were arrested for other crimes, 237 men and 10 women were arrested in narcotic cases, and 276 men and five women for public offence.

SP Chaudhary added that 15 people were arrested for homicide, five for abduction, 12 for fraud, one for burglary, four for gender-based violence, one for child marriage, and 18 for rape, among others.

Similarly, police had arrested 35 people for gambling, 34 for road accidents, five for black-marketing, and 58 for the theft, among others.
