JANAKPURDHAM: At least one protester has been shot dead in police action at Jaleshwar of Mahottari district on Friday afternoon.

A violent clash had erupted between the security personnel and the cadres of United Democratic Madhesi Front at the district headquarters a couple of hours after an injured official of Armed Police Force lynched by a mob at Bhagawanpur of the district.

The deceased has been identified as Ramsheela Devi Mandal.

She died on the spot after being hit by a bullet on her head.

Another person, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, has also received bullet injuries.

As many as three protesters were killed in police firing in Mahottari on Wednesday.
