Bomb explodes at residence of NC candidate Himal Karki of Udayapur Constituency 1 (Kha)
UDAYAPUR: A bomb exploded at the residence of Nepali Congress' election candidate Himal Karki of Udayapur district Provincial Constituency No. 1 (Kha) on Monday night.
An unidentified group had planted a powerful bomb at the residence of Karki, the former president of Nepali Congress, Udayapur, in a space between his kitchen room and cow shed in Chuhade, Bhantabari of Triyuga Municipality-7. The bomb exploded breaking one of the walls of the kitchen and cracking another one, at around 2:30 am today, according to police.
No casualty has been reported. Nonetheless, a cow and a buffalo have suffered serious burns on their bodies.
A team deployed from the District Police Office, Udayapur, reached the incident site to investigate.
Police have alleged that the cadres of Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist may have involved in the bomb attack.
Meanwhile, the search is on for the culprits involved in the attack, informed police.
