All cities to be load shedding free in a year: Minister Sharma

SINDHULIMADI: Energy Minister Janardan Sharma on Saturday said all cities and towns across the country would be made load shedding free within a year.

Speaking at a press meet organised by Sindhuli Chapter of Press Center Nepal in Sindhulimadhi, Minister Sharma stressed on proper utilisation of available resources to end the energy crisis.

He said his ministry was working to make the country load shedding free as per the 37-point declaration made by his ministry. Stating that power cuts would not be increased in Kathmandu, Sharma pledged that his ministry would do everything possible not to issue another load shedding schedule.

“My ministry is working to ensure that there is no more load shedding.

After the completion of 220 kV Khimti Dhalkebar transmission line, we shall end load shedding in some more cities soon,” Sharma added. He declared that the incumbent government would not withdraw the statute amendment bill registered in the Parliament .

“The amendment bill was tabled as per the parliamentary procedure and its solution should be sought through the Parliament,” Sharma added.
