CPN-Maoist Centre wins Bhajani, Kailali

The CPN-Maoist Centre’s candidates have emerged victorious as mayor and deputy mayor of Bhajani Municipality in Kailali.

Sher Bahadur Chaudhary of CPN-Maoist Centre registered victory in the post of mayor by securing 5,238 votes, confirmed Returning Officer Purswottam Sharma. His closest contender Kebal Chaudhary of Nepal Democratic Forum received 5,025 votes.

Likewise, Chhaya Devi Devkota of Maoist Centre also secured victory to the post of deputy mayor by defeating NDF candidate.

Meanwhile, Maoist Centre’s Lajuram Chaudhary of Kailari Rural municipality emerged victorious as chairperson with 6,204 votes.

His close contender Ram Samajh Chaudhary of the Nepali Congress secured 5,886 votes, confirmed Election Officer Rebati Raman Pokharel.

Laxmi Satgawa of Maoist Centre also won the post of deputy chairperson in the rural municipality. Her rival Anita Chaudhary of NC secured 5,407 votes.

Vote count is still going on in Dhangadi Sub-metropolis, Ghodaghodi Municipality and Lamki Municipality of the district.
