Danish crown prince in Lamjung

LAMJUNG: The Crown Prince of Denmark, Frederik André Henrik, is in Lamjung for last two days.

He has arrived at the hilly district of western Nepal to observe relief distribution programmes for April 25 earthquake survivors in remote villages of the district.

The Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) had invited the Prince for a visit.

Henrik is schedule to hold meetings with members of the public in the district, NRCS Lamjung Chairman Narayan Prasad Ghimire said.

The Prince’s team has 15 other members including Danish Red Cross Society General Secretary Anders Ladekarl and representatives of Kathmandu-based Danish Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Prince's team visited Pachok and Phaleni VDCs and took part in relief distribution programmes there, according to the NRCS.

He is scheduled to return to the district headquarters, Beshisahar, this evening.

After the visit to the villages, he is scheduled to meet Red Cross district representatives. He will also attend a press meet after the meeting.

The royal will return to Kathmandu on Sunday and will directly go back to Denmark, NRCS Programme Coordinator Prakash Aryal informed.

After the April 25 massive earthquake and its destruction, the NRCS Lamjung, with the help of Danish Red Cross, had provided relief support to 1,830 quake-hit households of six VDCs in the district.
