Earthquake in Nepal-India border; felt in Darchula

KATHMANDU: Locals of Darchula district experienced a light tremor that struck the Nepal-India border today.

According to Mukunda Bhattarai of the National Seismological Centre (NSC), the tremor of 4.0 local magnitude was recorded at 6: 16 am by its Baitadi station.

The epicentre was around 40 kilometres away on west of the station, Bhattarai added.

The NSC records show that Nepal last recorded a light earthquake with local magnitude 4.0 at Bajura on August 27.
