RAUTAHAT: Four persons died on the spot after a mud mound fell upon them on the bank of Banke River at Ishworpur Municipality-15 in Sarlahi district on Sunday evening. Three others have been injured in the incident.

According to SP Uttam Subedi of Sarlahi DPO, the victims have been identified as Rammati Mahato (35), Pabita Devi Mahato (36), Abhisekh Mahato (13) and Anshu Kumari Mahato (10).

They had gone to the riverbank to extract mud for domestic use,  added Subedi.

Injured Ramrati Devi Mahato (35), along with two others, have been taken to a local health facility in Sarlahi for the treatment. Their condition is said to be out of danger.
