Gang attacks teenager with sharp weapons in Damauli

DAMAULI: A gang attacked a teenage boy with sharp weapons and inflicted serious injuries on him in Damauli on Saturday.

Police identified the victim as Akash Thapa, a resident of Bisghare, Byas Municipality-10. He has sustained injuries on his chest, lower back and right hand.

The gang of six to seven persons first took Thapa to the covered hall at BP Van Vatika, in front of the Tanahun District Administration Office, and hit him with the weapons at around 3:45 pm, according to police.

He was first taken to the Damauli Hospital for treatment. He has not been sent to Pokhara and is admitted to the Gandaki Medical College, according to SP Krishna Kumar Mahat.

Police have detained eight persons in suspicion of their involvement in the attack.

Today's incident occurred after two rival gangs clashed in Galbubesi in Byas Municipality-1 on Friday night. Khukuris were also used in the fight yesterday night.
