Journalists submit memo to police

BIRGUNJ: Federation of Nepali Journalists Parsa chapter on Friday submitted a memorandum to District Administration Office and Narayani Zonal Police Office against the detention of Dhiraj Daruka, the Managing Director of local Baipas Daily, a few days ago in Parsa.

The mediapersons submitted the memo and gave an ultimatum of five days, appealing for immediate action against the guilty cop.

A team led by the chapter chairperson Shyam Banjara sought departmental action against the security personnel or suspension for his involvement in arresting Daruka and giving him unnecessary torture.

“The police chief should also apologise publicly for the cop’s misbehaviour under his instructions,” read the memo.

Mediapersons claimed that police administration had ill-intentions against them and their publications for not publishing news in favour of the security force.
