Madhesi Front not to sit for talks with govt, says Mahato

KATHMANDU: A major leader of the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UMDF) on Wednesday said his alliance concluded that relevance of talks with the government has already ended.

Speaking at a press meet in Janakpur today, Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato said talks with the government cannot solve the existing political crisis.

The national news agency Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) reported that Mahato also said the Front would not sit for talks until the government implemented past agreements signed with various groups and parties in the past.

The government and the Constitution Assembly should find a political solution to the Kailali clashes, which killed at least seven policemen and a child, Mahato said according to the RSS.
