LAMJUNG: Police in Lamjung district arrested a man for allegedly raping his sister-in-law in Sundar Bazaar Municipality-7 on Tuesday.

According to Lamjung District Police Office (DPO), the arrested raped his sister-in-law who was alone in the room in Sundar Bazaar-7. The assaulter, under the influence of alcohol, was visiting his sister-in-law when she was alone in her rented room, police informed, adding that her husband was out for work at the time.

The victim informed her husband of the incident and immediately lodged a complaint at Bhoteodar-based Area Police Office after the perpetrator fled the scene.

A team of police deployed from Sundar Bazaar Police Post arrested him while he was hiding not very far from the incident site, and brought him to the DPO, informed Police Inspector Basanta Pandey, Information Officer at the DPO.

Inspector Basnet said he was presented at the District Court and has been remanded to judicial custody for 10 days.
