Multiple landslides obstruct Pasang Lhamu Highway

RASUWA: Multiple landslides triggered by the incessant rainfall last night have obstructed transportation in various locations along the Ramche stretch of the Pasang Lhamu Highway in Rasuwa district.

According to Chamsingh Tamang, a social worker, the landslide obstructed 700 metres of the road stretch from Purano Sena Post of Kalika Rural Municipality-1 to Temrang River.

TheĀ  effort is on to remove the landslide debris in order to operate the vehicular movement smoothly, Rasuwa Traffic Police Office informed.

Meanwhile, hundreds of passengers as well as the goods laden vehicles with supplies from China have been stranded in the landslide prone areas along the highway.

According to Inspector Prem Singh Dhami at the Armed Police Border Security Squad, a joint team deployed from the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army has been trying to remove the landslide debris.
