No alternative to civic polls: Yadav

Rautahat, May 28

Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Chair Upendra Yadav today said the agitating Tarai-centric parties had no choice but to participate in the civic polls so as to institutionalise peace and prosperity in the country.

Speaking at a programme organised by his party in Gaur, Rautahat, Yadav argued that the FSF-N had participated even in the first phase of local polls held in Provinces 3, 4 and 6.

“It is true that the FSF-N has launched various agitation programmes demanding that the government implement past agreements. However, the party will participate in the second phase of civic polls keeping in mind the people’s right to vote,” Yadav added.

He said his party was struggling to put an end to inequality, exploitation and discrimination in society.

Yadav urged the government to facilitate Rastriya Janata Party Nepal to obtain registration and election symbol so that they could participate in the second phase of civic polls. He also expressed confidence that the second phase of polls would be successfully held on June 15 even if even Rastriya Janata Party Nepal did not participate in the elections.
