Teachers too will have to carry school bags now on

GORKHA: The government school teachers in Gorkha have been told to compulsorily carry bags while going to school.

The District Education Office (DEO) has issued an instruction to the teachers to carry bags as part of their school uniform and educational materials.

District Education Officer, Dipendra Subedi, said the teachers were being provided with the bag to make it easy for them to carry their diaries, relevant items and necessary educational materials. The teachers may purchase bags with the budget allocated for enhancement of students' educational quality, he added.

The teachers may also use the money of educational fund and administrative expenditure. The principals of the concerned schools have already started distributing bags to teachers. "After we distribute bags to carry educational materials the teachers that have arrived unprepared will be discouraged, and we believe it will enhance the quality of education," Subedi added.

The DEO has notified that it will monitor whether the teachers are complying with the mandatory rule and carrying educational materials. The Gorkha district has 457 government-run schools with affiliation of 2,623 teachers.
