Private airlines urged to operate flights during festivals

HUMLA: Private airline companies that used to operate their flights to Humla from Nepalgunj and Surkhet airports have now shifted their attention to the eastern belt of the country seeking more profits during the festive season.

As the private airlines slashed their flights to and from Humla, the locals and government employees in Humla are facing difficulties during the festivals.

With this move, the locals of Humla are struggling in Nepalgunj and Surkhet to buy tickets in the limited flights offered by the private airline companies.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the Simkot Rural Municipality assembly held on Thursday decided to prevent the private companies from operating their flights in Humla permanently if they did not operate their flights during Dashain, Tihar and other major festivals.

The meeting attended by representatives of the Simkot Rural Municipality, Chief District Officer and mediapersons took the decision to this effect.
