Rape case filed after 11 days of crime in Panchthar
PHIDIM: Owing to attempts of alleged perpetrator to hide the case, a rape case against a minor came into light only after 11 days of the crime, in Aangna of Panchthar district.
Ramesh Dahal (23) had allegedly raped the 13-year-old girl in Mauwa-1 of the district while returning after watching a football match on February 22. The incident was reported to police on March 4.
Dahal had taken the victim to a private place assuring her that he would give her a lift on his motorcycle to the home. The girl was with her neighbours.
The incident that came into light despite the fact that family of the alleged perpetrator tried to hide the incident by giving money to the family of victim.
However, after the pressure of villagers on the eleventh day, the girl with her family had lodged the case against the culprit in the District Police Office, Panchthar.
The suspect was arrested on March 6, informed DSP Krishna Prasad Koirala of the district.
