Street food festival to be held in Bhairahawa

Bhairahawa, April 9

Siddhartha Chamber of Commerce and Industry is set to organise a street food festival from bus park to Devkota Chowk along the Belhiya-Butwal trade road on the eve of the Nepali New Year 2075 in Bhairahawa, Rupandehi.

Nepal Tourism Board has sponsored for the festival to be held on Friday, the last day of the Nepali Year 2074. The festival will be celebrated from 6:00pm till mid-night. The street food festival has been organised for the past three years on the occasion at the entrance of Lumbini in Bhairahawa.

Festival coordinator Dipendra Pradhan said different sub-committees have been formed to make the festival a grand success.

Siddhartha Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Kul Prasad Neupane said the festival was being organised with the aim of attracting tourists and developing the tourism sector. He said priority would be given to art and culture, foods of different communities and various types of foreign foods, among others.

Neupane informed that Siddharthanagar Municipality, Siddhartha Hotel Association, Siddhartha Travels and Tours Association, Siddhartha Transportation Entrepreneurs Committee, Local Hotels Association, Restaurant Association and dozens of organisations related to tourism have contributed to the street food festival.
