Sudurpaschim Province purchases ambulances for hilly districts

Sudurpaschim Province Government has bought ambulances for 16 constituencies of seven districts.

Ministry of Social Development of the province has spent Rs 6.2 million to buy 16 well-facilitated ambulances.

Senior Public Health Officer Daya Krishna Panta of the Social Development Ministry said B-grade ambulances were bought with no customs charge. “The vehicle registration process has begun in the transportation management office.” He said it would take some time to hand over the ambulances to the authority concerned. “The ambulances will be handed over to each constituency after drivers and repair expenses are managed,” he informed.

According to secretary Gogan Bahadur Hamal of the ministry, the ambulances are air-conditioned and equipped to monitor heart beat and have oxygen cylinder, among other equipment.

According to the ministry, the ambulances will be handed over to Kolti Primary Health Centre and Tante health post of Bajura, Hakila and Khar health posts of Darchula, Rudreshwor and Kulau health posts of Baitadi, Matela and Rayal health posts of Bajhang, and Bhageshwor and Nawadurga health posts of Dadeldhura.

Similarly, the ambulances will be handed over to Doti District Hospital, Chamarachautara Health Post, Accham District Hospital, and Bannigadi, Binayak and Babla health posts.
