Thieves made public

POKHARA: Kaski Police arrested three persons on the charge of buying and selling stolen goods and made them public at a press meet organised in District Police Office, Kaski on Sunday.

The arrested have been identified as Sajan Sunar, 18, Akash Sunar, 23 and Santosh Sunar, 18, of Pokhara.

SP Hari Pal said that they had stolen gold jewellery worth Rs 13 lakh from a house belonging to Padam Prasad Subedi of Birauta, Pokhara on June 4.

SP Pal said the youths had also stolen gold ornaments along with Rs 532,000 from the house of Prabhakar Ghimire of Masbar, Pokhara on June 11.

Ornaments worth Rs 1.5 lakh had been stolen from Kamala BK of Pokhara-17 on June 19 said SP Pal.

He further informed, at the press meet, that gold items worth Rs 5 lakh was stolen from Krishna Kumari Khatri’s house in Pokhara-17 on May 21.

Police said that they had also stolen six laptops from five houses in Pokhara.

Police informed that the security team had nabbed Bidhya Sagar Poudel, owner of Sagar Mobile Store in Prithivi Chowk, Kumar Sunar of Sujan Jewellery Shop in Ranipauwa, Ashok Ghataraj, a gold businessman, Bhim Bahadur Rana Magar, an operator of a pool house in Nayabazaar and driver Bijaya Karki for purchasing the stolen items at a cheap rates from the thieves.

It has been reported that plainclothes police personnel were deployed in various places of Pokhara after theft incidents increased in Pokhara.

Similarly, SP Pal at the press meet said that the police have also arrested as many as 39 persons including a woman were also arrested on the charge of using and smuggling the illegal drugs during three months in Pokhara.

He further added that as many as 139 persons have been arrested on various charges.
