Three houses, shops gutted in Dadeldhura

At least three shops and three houses turned into ashes after a fire spread at Gaibandhe Bazaar in Parsuram Municipality, Dadeldhura, yesterday night.
Shops operated by locals Arjun Bohora, Ramesh Bohora and Akkal Bohora, who ran a grocery store, a fancy store and a hotel respectively, were completely destroyed in the blaze.
Similarly, three houses belonging to Dharma Singh Bohora, Lal Bahadur Bohora and Prakash Khadka were destroyed completely in the fire.
Police said property worth Rs one crore was reduced to ashes in the midnight fire.
It is said that the incident site was six hours walking distance from the district headquarters Bagkhor.
A joint team of Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and locals brought the blaze under control today morning.
Janak Thapa, a local, said that the blaze could not be brought under control immediately due to lack of fire-fighting engine in the surroundings.
Meanwhile, Area Administration Office Chief Dattu Ram Pandaya said that it was very difficult to bring the blaze under control as the incident took place at night.
Pandaya added that the incident might have occurred due to short circuit.
