RUKUM: A three-month-old girl of Puthauttarganga Rural Municipality-10 in Rukum district died from diarrhoea on Sunday, said the District Public Health Office (DPHO).

The deceased has been identified as the daughter of local Shyam Bahadur BK.

The infant who was suffering from diarrhoea for the past five days died on Sunday due to the lack of timely treatment, said Shiva Sarki, public health officer at the DPHO, adding that she had fallen ill due to extreme cold following the snowfall.

According to Sarki, the news about the death has only reached the DPHO as the village of the deceased is remotely located in the district.

Many locals in the rural municipality are still suffering from Cold Diarrhoea, informed public health officer Sarki. He further added that it has not yet reached the epidemic stage, however 15-20 persons are suffering from it there.
