UDMF defies prohibitory order

Rajbiraj, September 12

The United Democratic Madheshi Front defied the Saptari DAO’s prohibitory order along the east west highway and continued their protest today.

DAO had declared the east-west highway from Koshi barrage in the east to Balan River in the west and 500 kilometer on either side of the highway as riot hit area and mobilized the Nepal Army from 10 pm on Thursday night. The agitators, however, defied the order and took out rallies and staged demonstrations at various places along the highway.

The protesters had blocked the highway with stones and trees at various places. Yesterday too, around 200 youths had taken out a motorcycle rally and defied the order at many places between Rupani and Kharchuhiya in Saptari.
