KATHMANDU: Nabin Bahadur Shakya of Nepal Airlines won the men’s singles title of the Inter-airlines Table Tennis Tournament here on Tuesday.

In the best-of-seven final played at the National Table Tennis Training Centre, Shakya defeated Kamal Shrestha of Qatar Airways 11-4, 11-4, 11-0, 11-8.

Suresh Bikram Hamal of Nepal Airlines bagged third position.

Meanwhile, Shakya teamed up with Pritam Pradhan to win the men’s doubles title by beating fellow NA pair of Suresh Bikram Hamal and Babu Raja Awale 11-7, 8-11, 11-6, 11-8. Earlier, Nepal Airlines’ Ranjan Pokharel, Usha Simkhada and Nima Doma Sherpa bagged top three positions in women’s category played under round robin format on Monday.

Nepal Airlines organised the event to mark its 59th anniversary.
