KATHMANDU: White House defeated Modern Indian School 35-29 in the boys’ basketball tournament final under MIS Inter-school Tournament here on Sunday.

Niloy Maharjan, who top scored in the match with 11 points, received the highest scorer’s award, while Kabi Gurung of MIS was named the most valuable player of the tournament.

In boys’ football tournament, Ideal Mode beat DAV School 3-0 to win the trophy. Anuj Byanjankar scored a brace and Sunil Maharjan added one for the winners. Sunit Maharjan of Ideal Model was declared the best player, while his teammate Anuj Byanjankar was the highest scorer in the tournament.

Aman Chaudhary of DAV was named the best goalkeeper. In table tennis, hosts MID won both the team event gold medals. MIS defeated Triyog 3-2 in boys’ section final, while their girls’ team registered a 3-2 victory over Triyog.

A total of 250 students from 10 schools took part in the tournament.

Modern Indian School Principal Raju Peter, Headmistress Maya Rana and Administrative officer Jyoti Kadkha handed over the prizes to the winners.
