80 new Covid-19 cases registered on Sunday; nationwide tally hits 273,431

Nepal on Sunday reported 80 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 273,431.
Of the total cases, 33 are females while 47 males.
In the last 24 hours, 49 new cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley. Of the newly infected, 18 are females and 31 are males. The capital hosts the highest number of active cases
Kathmandu district alone witnessed 36 cases of Covid-19. Lalitpur reported eleven new cases while Bhaktapur logged two cases, today.
Presently, there are 929 active cases in Kathmandu district, 32 in Lalitpur, and 19 in Bhaktapur.
Likewise, 121 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.
As of today, 269,876 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.7 per cent.
Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,494.
The nationwide death-toll remains at 2,061 with zero fatality reported today.
According to the health ministry, 3,325 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,139,634 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
Currently, there are 68 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Saturday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 273,351 with 88 newly confirmed cases.
Globally, over 111 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.4 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19.
Likewise, over 86 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 22 million cases are still active.
