DHANGADHI, FEBRUARY 23

A man was killed in a domestic dispute in Belauri Municipality-6 of Kanchanpur district, on Tuesday.

Basanti Chaudhary (28) allegedly attacked her husband Om Kumar Chaudhary (30) with a farming tool, which led to his death, said police.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Amar Bahadur Thapa of District Police Office, Kanchanpur, they have learnt that the woman charged at her husband following a discussion of domestic nature.

'A team of police reached the site after they received information of the incident at around 5:00 am,' informed DSP Thapa, adding that the accused has been taken into custody for investigation. 'The body of the deceased was recovered inside their house with injury to the head.'

In another case of domestic violence, Prem Thapa, 76, of Bhimdatta Municipality-2 of the same district was beaten by his daughter-in-law and grandson, said police. Thapa, who was injured in the incident, has passed away during the course of treatment.

Sita Thapa, 35, and her son Arjun Thapa, 18, have been taken into police custody. The mother-son duo had thrashed the elderly person on February 10, said DSP Thapa.

Further investigations into the cases are underway.
