KATHMANDU, MARCH 12

The main opposition Nepali Congress has called a meeting of its office bearers and former office bearers to discuss current political issues, today.

The meeting is scheduled for 3:00 pm at the residence of party president Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha.

According to party spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma, the meeting is expected to dwell on the upcoming 14th general convention of Nepali Congress, and the changed political scenario.

Likewise, the party is holding a discussion with the Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal, today itself, on political matters, it has been said. The meeting with JSP-N will also take place at party president Deuba's residence at 4:00 pm, said spokesperson Sharma.

The country's political structure has been altered following the reinstatement of House of Representatives (HoR) ordered by the Supreme Court and its verdict to give the name Nepal Communist Party (NCP) to Rishi Kattel.

Kattel had filed a writ petition in the apex court claiming that the name NCP was illegally awarded to the unified party following the unification of the then CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre, as the party had already been registered in his name.
