167 new Covid-19 cases registered on Tuesday; total infection count stands at 277,147

KATHMANDU, MARCH 30

Nepal on Tuesday reported 167 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 277,147.

In the last 24 hours, 78 cases have surfaced in Kathmandu district. Similarly, Lalitpur reported seven cases while four new cases were reported from Bhaktapur. Kathmandu holds the highest number of cases in the country. Kaski holds the second highest number of new cases with 32 infections recorded today.

Likewise, 115 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 272,727 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.4 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,390.

The nationwide death-toll has reached 3,030 with three Covid-related fatalities reported today.

According to the health ministry, 3,140 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,267,408 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 53 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Monday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 276,980 with 89 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, over 128 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.8 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 103 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 21 million cases are still active.
