KATHMANDU, APRIL 01

Nepal on Thursday reported 152 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 277,461.

In the last 24 hours, 73 cases have surfaced in Kathmandu district, Lalitpur reported eight cases, while five new cases was reported from Bhaktapur. Kathmandu holds the highest number of cases in the country. Kaski holds the second highest number of new cases with 15 infections recorded today.

Likewise, 65 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.

As of today, 272,851 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.3 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,579.

The nationwide death-toll stands at 3,031 with one Covid-related fatality reported today.

According to the health ministry, 4,213 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,275,540 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 63 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Wednesday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 277,309 with 162 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, over 129 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.8 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19.

Likewise, over 104 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 22 million cases are still active.
