Nepal on Wednesday reported 162 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 277,309.
In the last 24 hours, 50 cases have surfaced in Kathmandu district. Kathmandu holds the highest number of cases in the country. Kaski holds the second highest number of new cases with 28 infections recorded today.
Likewise, 59 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 272,786 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.4 per cent.
Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,493.
The nationwide death-toll stands at 3,030 with zero Covid-related fatalities reported today.
According to the health ministry, 3,919 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,271,327 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
Currently, there are 59 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Tuesday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 277,147 with 167 newly confirmed cases.
Globally, over 128 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.8 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 104 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 22 million cases are still active.
