IPL 2021 begins; MI, RCB contesting in season opener -

KATHMANDU, APRIL 9

The biggest T20 tournament in the world Indian Premiere League (IPL) has begun with star studded Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) battling in the 2021 season opener in Chennai on Friday.

The opening match of the league, which is scheduled between April 9 to May 30 this year and will be played across six different venues in India, has kicked off as winless Virat Kohil led RCB take on three time champions Mumbai Indians in Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium in absence of stadium crowd.

RCB on winnig the toss opted to bowl first sending skipper Rohit Sharma and Australian attacking right-handed batsman Chris Lynn at the crease.
