KATHMANDU, APRIL 30

The Nepal Army team conducting 'Mountain Cleaning Campaign-2021' have recovered the wreckage of a helicopter and two human remains at the Dhaulagiri base camp on Wednesday.

NA Spokesperson Brig Gen Santosh Ballav Poudyal took to twitter to confirm the aforementioned. Moreover, NA also issued a press release for informing media on related developments.

Nepal Army is yet to ascertain the identities of the two recovered dead bodies while preliminary investigations suggest that the debris of the helicopter 9N-ACR could be from the 2006 Air Dynasty accident.

Earlier, the defense force issuing a press release had announced the campaign stating that it was being conducted with the aim of minimizing effects of climate change by cleaning up six peaks including Nepal Army starts campaign to clean up six mountains including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Dhaulagiri, Pumori and AmaDablam.

Under the initiative, the NA has so far collected a total of 5,154 Kilograms of waste including 355 Kilograms of bio-degradable and 4,799 Kilograms of non-biodegradable waste.
