Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, during his visit to Jhapa today, distributed educational materials including computers to 15 community schools and laid the foundation stone of the Gauradaha City Hospital.
The educational materials were handed over to schools in Jhapa, Tehrathum, and Taplejung districts amid a programme in Damak, under the Construction Entrepreneurship Fund of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, as part of the government's social responsibility initiative.
Addressing the programme, PM Oli emphasized the importance of government and private sector collaboration to improve the quality of education.
Later in the day, he laid the foundation stone of a 15-bed Gauradaha City Hospital at Chautu Chowk, Gauradaha-1. The hospital, to be built on two bighas of land at a cost of Rs 125.979 million, is expected to serve both local residents and people from neighboring Indian areas. The construction is targeted for completion by Magh 14, 2083 BS.
PM Oli noted that health services would be expanded as needed and stressed the government's commitment to improving basic services through the use of information and technology. He also urged youth to contribute to national development through professionalism and entrepreneurship.
Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal and Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki were present at both events.
