Back-to-back 5500+ daily infections logged, 19 deaths reported Saturday
The death toll from the infection has reached 3,298 with as many as 19 Covid-related fatalities recorded today

Nepal on Saturday reported as many as 5,706 cases of Covid-19 from across the country. With this, the total nationwide infection count has advanced to 328,893.
Of the newly infected, 2,455 are females and 3,251 are males.
Meanwhile, antigen tests confirmed 57 positives in the past 24 hours. As such, total infections from both RT-PCR and antigen tests added up to 5,763 today.
Today's daily infections is close to the highest infection of 5,743 recorded in the country on October 21, 2020.

According to the health ministry, 14,969 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, of which 14,403 were PCR tests while 566 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 2,488,359 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
Of the total cases updated today, Kathmandu district holds the highest number of new infections with 1,932 cases. Lalitpur reported 355 cases whereas 208 new cases were reported from Bhaktapur. After Kathmandu, Banke holds the highest number of cases with 551 infections while Rupendehi is third in line with 422 cases.
Likewise, 1,287 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.
As of today, 282,382 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate from the disease declines to 85.9 per cent.
Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 43,213.
Currently, there are 67 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Friday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 323,187 with 5,657 newly confirmed cases.
Globally, over 152 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 3.1 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 129 million people have recovered while more than 19 million cases are still active.
