KATHMANDU, APRIL 11

Nepal on Sunday reported 303 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the total nationwide infection count has advanced to 280,028.

Of the total cases recorded today, Kathmandu district holds the highest number of new infections with 128 cases logged in the past 24 hours. Kaski, with 41 new infections, has the second highest number of cases registered in 24 hours.

Likewise, 141 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.

As of today, 274,027 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 97.9 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 2,961.

The nationwide death-toll has reached 3,040 with one Covid-related fatality reported today.

According to the health ministry, 3,125 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,312,901 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 83 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Saturday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 279,725 with 337 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, over 136 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.9 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19.

Likewise, over 109 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 23 million cases are still active.
