KATHMANDU, APRIL 11

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) under Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation has appointed Rajan Kumar Poudel as tourism ambassador to Japan.

Poudel was a central committee member of the Japan chapter of Non-Resident Nepalis' Association (NRNA) from 2017 till 2019.

Poudel has worked as a project coordinator in various projects of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and its outsourcing companies in different countries of the world. He has visited 122 countries around the world.

He is currently engaged in various projects in Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Vietnam through Pacific Consultant and Berkeley Corporation, which are using funds from the Japanese government.

Born in Syangja, Poudel completed his Master's degree at Tribhuvan University and went to study at Nagoya University in Japan with a Scholarship. While working as a researcher for his PhD, he accepted the request of his professor and started working at JICA.
