As many as 190 Covid-19 patients succumbed to the disease in the past 24 hours in Nepal, following which death toll from the respiratory contagion has reached 5,847.
On Thursday, 8,227 more people contracted the novel coronavirus infection taking the nationwide tally to 488,645.
Meanwhile, 6,543 people were discharged after treatment leading the total active cases to 115,852. As of today, 366,946 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate from the disease stands at 75.1 per cent.
Antigen tests confirmed 78 positive cases in the past 24 hours. As such, total infections from both RT-PCR and antigen tests added up to 8,305.

According to the health ministry, 22,087 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, of which 21,695 were PCR tests while 392 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 2,855,793 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
Currently, there are 932 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Wednesday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 480,418 with 8,064 newly confirmed cases.
Globally, over 165 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 3.4 million people have lost their lives to the disease. Likewise, over 144 million people have recovered while more than 17 million cases are still active.
