With more than 95 per cent of literacy rate, Achham district was declared a fully literate district on Monday.

Social Development Minister of Sudurpaschim Province Government Man Bahadur Khadka made the announcement at a formal programme organised by the District Coordination Committee.

The DCC said that Achham was declared a fully literate district as most of the people there now can read and write.

On the occasion, Minister Khadka expressed his happiness over the local people's ability to read and write.
