Active caseload rises, reaches 27375 as 1855 infections surface Thursday

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 674,726 on Thursday with 1,855 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 637,690 with 1,288 discharges logged today.
On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 9,661 with 24 more fatalities.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 12,829 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 9,122 were PCR tests while 3,707 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,504,191 PCR tests have been carried out till date.
Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 859 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 2,714.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94.5 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.
The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 27,375.
The capital recorded as many as 536 infections today while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur recorded 130 and 85 respectively.
So far, a total of 4,589,970 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 3,308,730 have received the first dose while only 1,281,240 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.
Currently, there are 291 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Wednesday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 672,871 with 1,918 more people testing positive for the infection.
Globally, over 192 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.1 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 175 million people have recovered while more than 13 million cases are still active.
