Active caseload drops to 19700, death toll reaches 11087

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 790,662 on Saturday with 790 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 790,662 on Saturday with 790 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 759,875 with 1,371 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 11,087 with six more fatalities.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 19,700 against 20,287 a day before.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 10,579 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,050 were PCR tests while 3,529 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,153,833 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 163 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 953.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 96.01 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

Currently, there are 237 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

The capital district holds the highest number of infections with 198 cases in the country. Lalitpur is second in line with 73 cases while Kaski has 70 cases today.

So far, a total of 12,543,333 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 6,528,392 have received the first dose while only 6,014,941 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Globally, over 231 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.7 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 208 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
