5455 recover as 1721 get infected; 27 more succumb to Covid complications

KATHMANDU, JUNE 25

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 631,152 on Friday with 1,721 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 576,413 with 5,455 people discharged today.

In the past 24 hours, 27 more Covid-related fatalities were added taking the total death toll to 8,945.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 14,351 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 9,586 were PCR tests while 4,765 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,312,335 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 755 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 2,476.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 91.3 %, while on the other hand the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count has dropped to 45,794 with daily recoveries exceeding daily infections.

In the same time frame, 308 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 76 and 43 cases respectively.

So far, a total of 3,231,849 people have received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 2,500,196 have received the first dose while only 731,653 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Currently, there are 373 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Thursday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 629,431 on Thursday with 1,577 more people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 180 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 3.9 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 165 million people have recovered while more than 11 million cases are still active.
