Nepal records 523 new covid cases, nine death in 24 hours

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 805,560 on Monday with 523 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 782,293 with 937 discharges logged today.
On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 11,293 with nine more fatalities.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 9,697 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,654 were PCR tests while 2,043 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,328,478 PCR tests have been carried out till date.
Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 68 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 591.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.1 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.
The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 11,874.
Currently, there are 229 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
Globally, over 241 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.9 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 218 million people have recovered while more than 17 million cases are still active.
