KATHMANDU, AUGUST 12

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 725,769 on Thursday with 2,473 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 677.377 with 2,294 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 10,212 with 32 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 15,462 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 10,806 were PCR tests while 4,656 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,729,109 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 787 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 3,260.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 93.3%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 38,180.

So far, a total of 7,515,766 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 4,593,526 have received the first dose while only 2,922,240 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

In the same time frame, 811 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 192 and 130 cases respectively.

Currently, there are 441 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Wednesday, Nepal's coronavirus caseload had reached 723,296 with 2,616 more people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 205 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.3 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 184 million people have recovered while more than 16 million cases are still active.
