KATHMANDU, AUGUST 11

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 723,296 on Wednesday with 2,616 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 675,083 with 1,885 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 10,180 with 30 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 16,656 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 10,907 were PCR tests while 5,749 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,718,303 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 865 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 3,481.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 93.4 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 38,033.

So far, a total of 7,458,913 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 4,570,553 have received the first dose while only 2,888,360 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

In the same time frame, 663 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 192 and 109 cases respectively.

Currently, there are 399 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Tuesday, Nepal's coronavirus caseload had reached 720,680 with 3,194 more people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 204 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.3 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 183 million people have recovered while more than 16 million cases are still active.
