Man swept away by Jita River yet to be found

A person, who has gone missing for the last three days after the Jita River swept him away, has not been found yet.
The local river had swept away Dipendra Mandal, 23, of Hamunnagarkankalini Municipality, Saptari some days ago. An Armed Police Force team and locals have been searching for the missing youth using a boat. The river swept away Mandal while he was crossing the Jita Khola via dilapidated bridge along Rampuralhniya-Humannagar road section on Wednesday.
The incident occurred while Mandal was returning from Kunauli Bazaar, India, after buying the goods for the upcoming Dipawali and Chhat festivals. Mandal's friend Sanjiv Mandal, 28, who was with him, has saved his life as he was able to swam across the river.
The family members are very in deep sorrow as the man is missing for days now.
Mandal younger brother Raj Kumar said that he was with the search team to search for his missing elder brother. He said that they had not found his elder brother till this evening. Armed Police Force SP Raju Shrestha said that the search team had been searching for the missing Mandal for the last three days.
SP Shrestha added that the security team had been trying hard for the same in the surroundings, but in vain.
He added that Mandal might have been swept away to the Indian side. The search operation has been intensified with the help of Indian police officials. The people movement has also been obstructed in the area for the last three days.
