Flood triggered by incessant rainfall in the Jita River has inundated 150 houses at Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality, Saptari.

Six thatched houses have been damaged due to the flood.

According to rural municipality Chair Satish Singh, incessant rainfall for the last four days has submerged 150 houses at Khang tole, Ram Tole, and Sardar tole.

Rain-triggered deluge has also inundated paddy in 100 bigha land and damaged the crop. Locals have moved to safer places after flood water gushed into their houses.

Water gushed into the human settlement after the flood breached the embankment in the river. "We will collect data of flood-affected families and distribute relief," said Singh.

Disaster management Officer Rajesh of the rural municipality visited the flood-affected area and said the local level would do everything possible to control the flood and provide victims with relief.
