RAUTAHAT, JULY 3

Due to incessant rainfall with the onset of monsoon, villages in central and southern regions of the district have been inundated.

As water levels in the Bagmati and Lal Bakaiya rivers made way into settlement areas, villages in the region have lost contact with other areas due to damaged and inaccessible roads.

Around 30 families in Banjharaha village of Ishnath Municipality have been displaced, as water level in the area rose to 3 to 4 feet from the surface, informed the District Administration Office (DAO).

Similarly, villages including Banjharaha, Barharba, Bairiya, Fatuwa, among others have become inaccessible due to damages to the roads.

Due to the submersion, aroud 20 Dalit families in the Durga Bhagawati Rural Municipality have been forced to live in tents near southern dam of Bagmati river.
