1042 new infections, 27 fatalities, 2552 recoveries logged today

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 644,622 on Sunday with 1,042 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 609,218 with 2,552 discharges accounted today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll shifted to 9,225 with 27 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 8,132 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 4,876 were PCR tests while 3,256 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,368,542 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 561 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 1,603.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94.5 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count has dropped to 26,179 with daily recoveries exceeding daily infections.

In the same time frame, 342 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 88 and 31 cases respectively.

So far, a total of 3,364,051 people have received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 2,606,005 have received the first dose while only 758,046 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Currently, there are 299 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Saturday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 643,580 with 1,527 more people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 184 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 3.9 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 168 million people have recovered while more than 11 million cases are still active.
